03Preferences on your device
When you choose a theme, accent colour or other appearance setting, add something to your store basket, or change your set, repeat setting or layout in the music player, it’s saved in your browser’s local storage so it’s still there next time. It’s only saved when you do one of those things, and your set never leaves your device. Your basket (merch and tracks) stays on your device until you check out, when what’s in it is sent with your order. Checkout’s card payments happen on Stripe’s own site, which uses its own cookies there under Stripe’s cookie policy; none are set on this site. If you’re signed in, your theme, accent colour, player layout and other appearance settings are also saved to your member account, so they follow you to other devices (see the privacy policy). Site admins' choice of how many rows each admin list shows is kept in a cookie instead, so the page arrives at that size.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
theme | This site | Remembers if you picked light or dark mode instead of following your system. | Until you clear it |
accent | This site | Remembers the accent colour you picked. | Until you clear it |
basket | This site | Keeps the merch and tracks you added to your basket. Removed when you empty it. | Until you empty it or clear it |
player-queue | This site | Keeps your set in the music player (the tracks, their order), its repeat setting, and which tracks you've played, so autoplay picks ones you haven't heard. | Until you clear it |
player-layout | This site | Remembers the music player layout you picked, on screens with a choice. | Until you clear it |
music-widget, gallery-widget | This site | Remembers whether you want the music player and gallery buttons on every page. | Until you clear it |

motion | This site | Remembers whether you asked the site to reduce motion. | Until you clear it |
admin-list-sizes | This site (a cookie) | Site admins only: remembers how many rows each admin list shows a page, as they last picked. | 1 year |
04The replay video player
Replays hosted on the site play in Bunny.net’s video player, which only loads when a member opens one. It sets no cookies. It saves your volume and player settings in its own local storage, which counts as something you asked for, so it doesn’t need consent. It also sends Bunny anonymous playback and performance statistics, without storing anything on your device for them.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
plyr | Bunny.net (iframe.mediadelivery.net) | Remembers your volume and player settings in the replay video player. | Until you clear it |
05Bot protection
When it’s switched on, Google reCAPTCHA checks the forms anyone can send (signing in, creating an account, forgotten passwords, messages and bookings, and the newsletter form) for spam and automated attacks. Its script only loads on pages with one of those forms, or, for the newsletter form at the foot of each page, when you send it. It runs in the background, so there’s nothing to tick, and each protected form says it’s there. Keeping those forms working safely is something you asked for, so it doesn’t need consent. See Google’s privacy policy.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA | Helps tell people from bots on the forms it protects. | 6 months |
rc::a, rc::b, rc::c, rc::d-… | Google reCAPTCHA (local storage) | Helps tell people from bots on the forms it protects. | Until you clear it, or the end of the visit |
06Analytics (optional)
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and mixes people come back to and how they found the site. The Google Analytics script isn’t loaded at all until you opt in. IP addresses aren’t stored, and advertising features, Google Signals and ad personalisation are all switched off.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells visits apart with a random identifier. | 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit for page-view and engagement reports. | 2 years |
If you later withdraw consent, analytics stop straight away and these cookies are deleted from your browser.
08Changing your choices
You can change or withdraw your consent whenever you like, here or with “Cookie settings” in the footer. Rejecting analytics doesn’t change how the site works for you.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, member sign-in won’t work.
09Records of your choice
Each time you save a choice we keep an anonymous record of it: a random identifier from the consent cookie, what you chose, the policy version and the time. That lets us show we asked before setting anything optional, as the UK GDPR requires. It doesn’t include your IP address or anything else that identifies you. See the privacy policy for more.
10Changes to this policy
If we add a cookie or change what one is for, we’ll update this page and the cookie prompt will ask you again. Choices made under an older version are no longer used.
